Art. 506.

§ 1. Jeżeli w celu umorzenia zobowiązania dłużnik zobowiązuje się za zgodą wierzyciela spełnić inne świadczenie albo nawet to samo świadczenie, lecz z innej podstawy prawnej, zobowiązanie dotychczasowe wygasa (odnowienie).

§ 2. W razie wątpliwości poczytuje się, że zmiana treści dotychczasowego zobowiązania nie stanowi odnowienia. Dotyczy to w szczególności wypadku, gdy wierzyciel otrzymuje od dłużnika weksel lub czek.
